If you are looking for work now might be the perfect time for you to diversify if you are in the construction field. Pick up some new skills, teach yourself a different trade, and find other things you are good at while waiting for that perfect construction job to come around. Going back to school is also never a bad idea as an education can mean more money in your pocket - at least in the long term.

WSJ indicates that it is three times harder for the guys who went on to construction jobs to gain employment (after being laid off or losing their job) than their college educated counterparts.
